Innovation?

According to this article:

... apparently Malaysia can generate a culture of innovation.

I'll say... yeah right!

Puh-lease!! At this current pace... not in a million years...

Now, before readers start flaming me about this, just read through my 2 cents first. Probably you'll see my rational behind this.

Conservative culture - Probably one of the biggest turn off in generating highly innovative individuals. Frankly speaking, we are one awfully quiet and conservative society. How can we stimulate our innovations within us if we can't even speak for ourselves. Moreover share our ideas out? Remember during school, whenever a teacher asked a question, how many of us really do dare to answer or even to correct a teacher's mistake? And if you realized, those that dared to ask or correct are those who excelled in their studies. And where are they now? Overseas... period.

Open mindedness - Sadly, we have one of the most narrow-minded society. This is closely related to "conservative culture". When we are in a conservative society, we tend to be less open minded about things. Hence, it'll discourage young minds from expanding and venture into creativity and innovation. Look at the ppl in the United States. They are free to do and voice out whatever they wish to. Though it might be a double edged sword, but at least it's giving the mind a chance to expand it's horizons.

Guts - We simply don't have enough balls to take things into another level. They are many with wonderful ideas, may it be a business model or invention, but when it comes to the real deal, most of us just simply shrug it away because we are afraid of being laughed and ridiculed at.

Now, i can keep going on about this but heys... i dun wan to bored you all with my rants...
Just think about it a lil by yourself.
We simply ain't ready enough!
We NEED more awareness!
