It's been a long time...

... since i blogged.
... since i twitted.
... since i last touched a guitar.
... since i last played the drum.
... since i last went to a bar or a club.
... since i met with my buddies back in M'sia.

I need to get a life... seriously!
=(

Had to be honest here... had been losing my mojo to blog recently. Probably because life here in Hanoi is getting really boring for me. Damn, no pubs, no clubs, no cybercafes... heck i can't even read and speak Vietnamese!

Honestly... i feel dumb at times. Felt like an illiterate. I can't even order food off the menu if they take my order in Vietnamese. I have tried real hard to pick up their language, at least the very basic. But sad to say, i have no interest at all. I find their language hard to learn (especially with the 6 different tones for an alphabet), unconventional, non-logical, cheeky, and sounds damn rude at times! Urgh... i just can't stand it. >.<

Hence, most of the time i'm just stuck at home... reading online books, playing online games, chatting online, and watching Korean dramas (thank God for the Korean channels available on my cable tv!)

Anyways...

I know it's been 4 days already... but heck, i couldn't be happier for South Korea for winning the 2018 Winter Olympic bid! Wanted to blog about this on the day that they announced the winner of the bid... but can't seem to find the "oomph" to blog.

By the way, i watched it live over here ^^... alongside with 50 million South Koreans worldwide! Gosh was it a joyous occasion to see them win. Finally after 10 years of perseverance... losing 2 times doesn't stop this bunch! I am so envious of their determination and dedication to bring good to their country. Look at the support from the locals... 95% is ridiculous! Seems like everyone wants South Korea to host the Games! Even president Lee Myung Bak is there to support!!

2018... South Korea, here i come!!! (Maybe by that time i'm a permanent resident there... nyek nyek nyek...)

Busy busy busy...

Had been real busy lately with my work. And that is good! Its better than rotting my ass off over here in Hanoi with nothing much to fill up my spare time... other than online gaming.

=P

Oh well, nothing much to update at the moment. But i do admit that i'm getting addicted to this online game called Ran Online. It's an MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) where u level up your character and whoop ppl's ass when the PK (Player Kill) time is initiated.

Sweet eh?

Can definitely help in reducing stress!

Haha~!

Ran Online is nothing new to me though. Had been playing it during my university times... just that i had stopped for erm... 5-6 years? Much had changed now. When i first started out, it's still in it's infancy stage as open beta. Now, Episode 7 is coming out soon... swt! I am so outdated.

Anyways, i've reached level 151 in one month... cool? All thanks to the leveling events held recently... leveling up your character is a breeze.

Well, enough of my rants on Ran for the moment. I'm not here to drown anyone with useless informations about an online game that maybe most of the people is not interested in at all. But my point is, try to make use of your time.

Don't over stuff yourself with sleep. Sleep is just a drag in life. Try to fill up your time with something meaningful or passionate about. Like me for example, despite reaching level 151 in an online game, that doesn't mean i'm hooked on it. I still spend time reading, exercising, cooking, cleaning the house, ironing my clothes, and other daily chores. But i filled up some those extra time with online game. You can do so too! Not nescessarily with online games, but just fill up your time by doing the things that you love. Eventually, you will feel that 24hrs a day ain't enough. I wished that i could be longer though. Perhaps 36 hrs? kekeke...

So, yeah.

Stumbled upon this vid just now. Just wanna share out some laughs before signing off...

Btw, just before you all go crazy or something, the vid is fake. Just for laughs!

I Know...

... that i had been really busy with my work lately. It's mainly due to the fact that my holding company in Singapore is going to get listed in Singapore Exchange soon... and yes, much work needs to be done.

Anyways, i'm still pretty much alive and well here. Had been heading out to the gym quite often recently (since it's free). I guess i'm kinda fed up with my "out of shape" body. I need to get ripped!

No, i don't want to be like this dude...

Arnold Schwarzenegger

That body is just too much... besides, i never intended to build my body. Just keeping it lean will do... like this...

TaeYang

Haha...

Probably it's a bit too far fetched for me... but oh well, no harm having a dream body right? Never too late to start though...

Despite being busy, I managed to get my hands on G.Na's latest album "Black & White". I tell you, i'm loving it! Bought the entire album off itunes...

Click on the link below to get yours now!!!

G.NA - Black & White

My favorite song is definitely track # 2 이제 그만 화 풀어요 (Don't Be Mad Anymore) Check it out yourself!

I think I need to get a few more hard disk to backup all my precious originals. Though i really prefer the physical CD's and DVD's... but i guess digital originals are the "in" thing now. Besides, it's much more convenient in terms of storage and less the fuss of going to the stores to buy it.

Till then, 다녀오세요!

Just when i thought that i'm going to be celebrating this year's birthday all alone, my colleagues here in Hanoi threw me a small party. I felt really touched. It did made me feel more at home here. At least there is a sense of "belonging" where all the people you know is superbly friendly and will treat you with respect.

No forgetting my family and friends all the way back in M'sia, thanks for all the wishes on Facebook. Though you all might not physically be here with me, but your wishes can be felt all the way in Hanoi. Thanks everyone for making my 2011 birthday a really special one.

Day 18

It's the 18th day i'm in Hanoi, Vietnam. So far so good i guess... My local colleagues are exceptionally nice and funny. A nice bunch to hang with. Though sometimes there might be some misunderstandings because of language barrier... nonetheless they are still very helpful.

So far, there's really nothing much to complain about other than the ridiculously chaotic traffic and terrible air pollution. Initially, i tot it was fog... only to realize later that it's smog! Goodness!

This city is raided with motorcycles...

Madness... You need balls to be a police here.

Many have asked me the same question over and over, "Ain't you afraid being alone in a foreign country?" Well, being alone in a foreign country is not as bad as many have thought.

It's really a good experience and opportunity to learn about a new culture, lifestyle and even language. Instead of being confined in our comfort zone, why not venture out to see this great big world? There's just so much to see and learn.

I admit that at times i do feel lonely and definitely miss my family and friends back in M'sia, but hey... that's where technology comes into play to bridge that "distance" gap! There's Skype, MSN messenger, Yahoo messenger, Whatsapp (for smartphones) and many more programs and applications to keep our contacts in touch.

Ain't technology wonderful?
=)

Anyways, deep in my heart, I believe that God is the one who opened the door and gave me this opportunity. Hence, I will walk tall, talk bravely and work hard without any fears... cause i know that God is with me always...

No fear!

-Peace out-

I'm back...

It's been 4 and a half months since i disappeared. Frankly speaking, a lot of things happened and i didn't get much inspiration to blog about anything. Other than that, i had been very busy with my work in office. Had a lot of things to clear off before i resigned.

FYI, i'm now in Hanoi!

You heard me... i'm in Hanoi, Vietnam!

Flag of Vietnam

Had been here for 2 weeks.
Brand new office, brand new colleagues, brand new environment... i guess it'll be a brand new start for me.

So yeah, I will be blogging here more often now as i now have MUCH more time.

Stay tune~!

(Kim Su Han Moo)

Sounds familiar?
Those who are watching Secret Garden that's being aired over South Korea right now will know what it is right away!

Yes! It the chant that Kim Joo Won recite every time he's about to go crazy thinking about Gil Ra Im.

I've been searching high and low for this in the internet and i came across this website, otayamin.wordpress.com that provides an in depth explanation.

Romanized:-

Kim~~suhanmoo keobugiwa durumi samcheongabja Dong Bang Sak Chichigapo Sarisarisaenta Woriwori Saepeurika Moodoosella gureumi heorikaein dambyeorak seosaengwonae goyangyi badookineun Doldolri

It actually comes with an ancient story with a sad ending.

A long, long time ago, a man who’s part of generations of only sons, consulted a name-specialist to give his only son a name symbolic of a long life. But no matter how the name-specialist suggested, the man insisted, “longer… make it longer”. It became a name that took a long time to pronounce in anybody’s life.

His name was Kim~~suhanmoo keobugiwa durumi samcheongabja Dong Bang Sak Chichigapo Sarisarisaenta Woriwori Saepeurika Moodoosella gureumi heorikaein dambyeorak seosaengwonae goyangyi badookineun Doldolri.

One day, Kim~~suhanmoo keobugiwa durumi samcheongabja Dong Bang Sak Chichigapo Sarisarisaenta Woriwori Saepeurika Moodoosella gureumi heorikaein dambyeorak seosaengwonae goyangyi badookineun Doldolri fell into the river.

A passer-by cried for help.

“Help!! Kim~~suhanmoo keobugiwa durumi samcheongabja Dong Bang Sak Chichigapo Sarisarisaenta Woriwori Saepeurika Moodoosella gureumi heorikaein dambyeorak seosaengwonae goyangyi badookineun Doldolri fell into the river!”

However, during the time he was crying for help, Kim~~suhanmoo keobugiwa durumi samcheongabja Dong Bang Sak Chichigapo Sarisarisaenta Woriwori Saepeurika Moodoosella gureumi heorikaein dambyeorak seosaengwonae goyangyi badookineun Doldolri drowned.

So, what does it mean?

In depth Translation:-

Kim Soo-han-moo : it’s Hanja literally means surname ‘Kim’, ‘Age-is-Infinite’.

Keo-bu-gi-wa du-ru-mi: the tortoise and the crane (bird, not machine), 2 of the traditional 10 symbols of longevity.

Sam-cheon-gab-ja Dong Bang Sak: long time ago, there lived a guy called Dong Bang Sak in China. He lived for sam-cheon-gab-ja = 3000 x 60 = 180000 years.

Chi-chi-ga-po: name of somebody who lived a long life somewhere in Africa *lol*

Sarisarisaenta, Woriwori, Saepeurika: names of legendary people who lived a long life *rofl*

Moo-doo-sael-la : konglish for Methuselah, who lived for 969 years, according to the Bible’s Genesis 5:27

gu-reum-yi: ‘clouds’, ‘cos they symbolise a never-ending existence; in a way, lives longer than Methuselah ^^; thus it’s better to be a cloud than Methuselah

heo-ri-kae-in: konglish for ‘hurricane’, shows the meaninglessness of clouds’ existence if they can be blown away by hurricanes, thus it’s better to be a hurricane than a cloud.

dam-byo-rak: ‘wall’, showing the meaninglessness of a hurricane if you stay intact despite being blown, thus it’s better to be a wall than a hurricane.

seo-saeng-won-ae: ‘mouse’. Drills holes in wall, causing weakened wall to collapse in a hurricane, thus… it’s better to be a mouse than a wall.

go-yang-yi: ‘cat’. (You get the drift)

ba-duk-yi-neun: ‘dog’

Doldolri : doggie’s name..

So there you have it!
Practice it... so we can recite together with Joo Won the next time he says it!

Tight Schedules

Had been extremely busy lately... with all the datelines and my lady boss breathing down my neck chasing for this and that. Come on! I only got a pair of hands! How much can you expect from me?
Urgh...

Apart from my rants, i think i pretty much achieve what i wanted so far.
1) I managed to wake up at 7.30am everyday
2) I exercised at least 15 min a day (morning)
3) I'm starting to eat with a more healthy and balanced diet
4) I'm maximizing my time with activities and i wasted less time doing nothing
5) I procrastinated much lesser

So far... for my week's report, I think i'm doing good. Hope i keep this up!
=)

Mondays...

Kick started some of my new year resolutions this morning.
1) I woke up at 7am
2) I exercised for 15 min
3) Practiced guitar for 15 min
4) Practiced speaking Korean for 15 min

Then off i go to work...
and...
it didn't go all that smoothly...
1) Before even i stepped out of the house, the door jammed. Yeah... we were locked inside.
2) Reached office a lil late.
3) Though productive day... but i was kinda moody and grumpy.

BUT!

This won't stop me from achieving my resolutions.

Hope i can keep this up!

Pray for Korea

It's the hottest topic in today's news. Ireland's debt in the economy crisis is NOTHING compared to shelling on one of South Korea's island located west of Seoul. As at now, two South Korean soldiers were killed and some civilians are injured. This event caused the tension between the 2 neighbors to escalate even further.

Whoever you are, readers, passerby, friends, family members... please PRAY for Korea.

For those who don't know, Seoul is located just 30 miles from North Korea. Tons of artillery are pointed on this city of 26 million civilians and the North won't hesitate to decimate it if they want to.

I urge you all... please pray for Korea.

Banpo Bridge - Seoul

How come we don't have a bridge like this here in Malaysia?

This bridge is located at the heart of Seoul, Korea. It actually consists of 2 bridges. Jamsu (1975) being at the bottom while Banpo (1982) is on top of it. 달빛무지개 분수 or known as Moonlight Rainbow Fountain was installed on September 2009. In order to put on a magnificiant display instead of just a plain'o'boring fountain, 10,000 LED nozzles were installed on both sides of the 1.1km bridge. Check out the vid below, it's truly a piece of art!

Disappointed...

I just got back from the interview in HP Global Center. Damn... it's kinda disappointing. I wasn't prepared AT ALL for the technical questions that they're gonna bombard me with... and it's so freaking hard to answer them!
I hadda tell them frankly that i can't answer some of the questions. Damn... i do hope it turns out alright.

I really wanna get out of Sunway...

*fingers crossed & praying hard*

Korea #1

I'm getting really addicted to Korean songs... probably even with it's culture!
But who doesn't?
For a country of it's size... they are truly remarkable!

They have the world's top players in the gaming community.

They make internationally recognized cars.

They have some internationally recognized singers.

BoA Kwon

Lee Hyori

They have the hottest actresses.

Kim Hee Sun

Song Hye Kyo

They have some of the best indie bands.

Nell

They have the some of the world's prettiest girls...

Wondergirls

Not bad for a country of 73 million citizens...

Definitely... Korea # 1

Oh yeah... they have the best American born Korean youtubers too...

Time flies...

Can't believe that i'm about to head back to the hustle and bustle of KL city in a few more hours. Dang! How time flies! It felt like i just came back home a couple of hours ago... and now, i have to head back to the concrete jungle of stress! But i think it's ok... i have transfered tons of korean songs from CD's to my hand phone. It'll come in handy accompanying me during the 2 hr journey.

Guess i better start packing now...

Who said guys don't cry?

Seriously... guys have feelings too! No matter how tough or how strong he could be, guys do cry!

Funny yet true! Haha... this guys are awesome!

Back in Ipoh!

Oh yes! Finally managed to made myself some time to go back to Ipoh for the weekend. It's an opportunity to finally catch up with my parents, my dog, and of course... my bed! After all the stressful and busy schedule since the last 3 weeks, i think i deserve some "quality" rest.

Sunway Family Day 2010

Seriously, this is so long overdue. I din really had much time recently to edit the photos that were taken during the Family Day event held in Sunway Lagoon on the 24th October 2010.

Anyways, here are some of the photos of the event. Massive thingy I should say as there are literally tons of ppl around. Mostly Sunway staffs and their family.

Entrance

Man-made waterfall

Suspension bridge

Me and my bud reached the entrance at 10.30am, grabbed the goodies bag and headed straight to the water park. There are tons of ppl there. Serious! We din even managed to get onto the rides... the queue is ridiculous! Damn...

However we did managed to walk around, snapped some photos and checked out some hot chics. We busted out of that joint at around 3pm. All in all, it was good. Nice weather too...

=)

P.S. - The rest of the photos can be found in my facebook... http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=573363&id=717975710

P.S.S - This entry is exactly the same as my other blog doubleownage.blogspot.com as i was lazy to make another entry of the same post. =P
