Linkin Park - Iridescent (Soundtrack for Transformers: Dark of the moon)

Oh-em-gee!!!
What a nice music video!!!

Though this song is not new (taken from their album "A Thousand Suns") but the video is just pure awesome! Come to think of it, i still haven't write a review for this album yet! >.<

Anyways, to sum up the album... i only liked 2 songs which is, "Waiting For The End" and "Iridescent". Kinda disappointed with it. (And maybe that is why i didn't write a review for it. lolz...) However, I do give LP a lot of credits for being very experimental in every album. They never fail to amuse you with their fresh music and powerful rhythms. But still, i prefer the previous albums especially their debut album.

On another note...

I WANT TO WATCH "TRANSFORMERS - DARK OF THE MOON"!!!!

Sigh...
Guess i can only watch it in DVD or when i'm back in M'sia in August. I don't trust the cinemas here in Hanoi. Last time i went to watch "Thor" at a local cinema here... I came back totally disappointed with the video and sound quality. The movies was good no doubt about that but without impressive video and sound imagery... it turned up like watching a low quality VCD.

So yeah... that's all from me now.

The Social Network

I managed to watch this cool movie "The Social Network" just recently and it's really an eye opener. This movie is about Facebook. Now, most of us are already registered users of Facebook, but do we know how it came about?

This movie will answer the questions of:

Who is the founder of Facebook?

Who are the co-founders?

Where did it originate from?

What drives Facebook to succeed?

and many others...

Though the movie is quite boring (as many technical terms and jargons are used throughout the movie), however, as the story unfolds on how facebook came about and how friends can turn into enemies will keep you glued to your seats. Watch how the founder and his team has to struggle through hardship and lawsuits just to make Facebook a reality.

This movie is based closely on the book The Accidental Billionaires written by Ben Mezrich. For those who ain't much of a movie lover, can always opt for the book. I've read thru it last year way before the movie was made. And yes... it's exactly the same as the movie.

Ain't the song just beautiful?

Sounds familiar? It's because you'll hear this song when you watch the animated movie Shrek. Though it is sung by John Cale and not Jeff Buckley, the lyrics is still haunting.

The song is about love which has soured and gone stale. Cohen used a lot of religious imagery, including references to some of the more notorious women in the bible. Here's some lyrical analysis:

"You saw her bathing on the roof, her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you" - Bathsheba, who tempted the king to kill her husband so he could have her.

"She tied you to her kitchen chair, she broke your throne and she cut your hair" - Delilah, who cut off Sampson's locks that held his superhuman strength.

"But remember when I moved in you and the holy dove was moving too" - This could be a reference to the divine conception and Mary.

The lines referring to the immaculate conception can also be interpreted as having a sexual connotation: "And every breath we drew was hallelujah."

It is clever the way that not only the chords line up in the lyrics and in the music, but also because the connotations themselves of "major" and "minor" add to the meaning of the song. The "fourth" is a major chord based on the fourth of the key Buckley is playing in. Likewise the fifth is the major chord based on the fifth tone of the key. The "Minor Fall" corresponds to Buckley playing a minor chord based on the sixth of the key. "Major Lift" corresponds to playing the major chord on the fourth again.

Oh yeah, be sure to catch all four installments of it including the last and latest sequel, "Shrek Forever After" which was debuted earlier this year.

Seriously, it's a cool movie.
